We have a list available of florists that we recommend.

3. MUSIC
A recommendation list of disc jockeys, bands and other musical entertainment is available on request. Please confirm prices with them directly. Music equipment (i.e. the DJ’s speakers etc.) may not be set up outdoors. In the case of any glass breakages, these costs will be deducted at a cost of R10.00 per glass from the refundable deposit. The cut off time for loud music is strictly at 24h00.

4. BAR
We have a fully stocked bar which could be used as either a cash or open bar. The bar and barman are available at a fee of R300, which include the use of ice and glasses. We do not allow any wine, spirits, beer, juice or soft drinks to be brought onto the premises. The bar closes strictly at 24h00.

5. TIME OF ARRIVAL
For an evening function we suggest arriving around 18h00 to enjoy an aperitif (sherry, fruit punch, juice, etc.) and the most beautiful sunset from our vine-covered terrace. Light snacks can be arranged with the chef.

6. CLOSING TIME
Evening events: Midnight
Lunchtime events: 15h30
After 12h00, an additional charge of R500.00 per hour will be added to the final invoice.

7. WEDDING/FUNCTION FEE
A minimum of 45 guests are required to hire the restaurant for a private function. A deposit of R2000 is payable to book and secure the date for your wedding/function. Unfortunately, the deposit is not refundable in the event of a cancellation.

The restaurant can accommodate a maximum of 80 guests including a dance floor area, or 100 guests with the option of dancing outside under our vine-covered terrace.

The wedding/function fee is quoted per person, depending on the choice of menu. The set-up of the restaurant (round/rectangular tables, chairs, linen, glasses, crockery and cutlery, restaurant hire) is included in the price per person.

The full restaurant will only be available for late afternoon/evening weddings/functions as from 15h00 onwards. A venue hire fee of R5000.00 will be charged should you wish to avail the venue for the entire day.

waiter’s charges)

Confirmation of the number of guests must be done two weeks prior to the event, where after you will be invoiced accordingly. A 50% deposit is required on receipt of this invoice. The total bill for the event must be settled two days prior to the function. Failing to do so, we reserve the right to cancel the function and rebook the venue for that date. The liquor bill must be settled on the day of the event.

8. SECURE PARKING
Ample parking is available for cars and buses.

9. OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION
Unfortunately we do not offer any accommodation on the farm, but we have a list of recommended guesthouses in the nearby vicinity.

10. WEDDING CEREMONY
Wedding ceremonies can be arranged in the private garden by prior liaison with the owners, but is limited to the front gardens of the manor house only. The surrounding gardens and buildings are private property and must be taken good care of. A non-refundable deposit of R500 is payable at the time of the booking. We provide and set up garden chairs for the occasion at an extra charge of R7 per chair.

PLEASE NOTE:

• Any extra décor needed, for example: red carpet, pillars, flowers, gazebo, etc. must be arranged by yourselves with the rental companies. References are available on request.
• Only rose petals may be used as confetti.
• Prices are current and subject to change without notice.
• The restaurant cannot be held responsible for any loss, damages or injury.
• No Fireworks will be allowed on Saxenburg premises
• Should the Guinea Fowl Restaurant/Saxenburg Wine Farm building, game camp, private manor house, surrounding gardens, décor or napery be damaged by the client or supplier during set-up or break-down of the function, the client will be held responsible and will be billed accordingly.

11. PAYMENT
We do accept cheques (made out – Not negotiable) or cash. NO Credit Cards accepted. Direct Banking is also welcome.
