Saxenburg Wine Farm, Stellenbosch

You are cordially invited to visit Saxenburg and discover wines which have been created by nature and crafted by our Cellar Master to produce that special individual quality that can be tasted in each of the award-winning wines.

We go out of our way to accommodate tour groups (please book in advance).
You can also browse the fine selection of gifts, including a variety of guinea fowl souvenirs.

Herman Hanekom, our Tasting Room Manager, will be glad to assist you in tasting our superb quality wines – from both Saxenburg and Château Capion, situated in the Languedoc region of Southern France.

We also offer tastings of our very own Extra Virgin Olive Oil, produced from olives grown on the estate.

Boutique Olive Oil

In 1944 a young Greek man, Peter Mavrides, bought Saxenburg from Henry Walter Lawrence and plated olive trees, which still stand today.

Along with olives sourced from a nearby property with trees of over fifty years old, a distinctive olive oil of the highest quality is produced for Saxenburg.

Only Italian varieties, predominantly Frantoio, are used for this delicious boutique cold pressed

Extra Virgin Olive oil and only 250 to 500 litres are produced annually depending on the yield for each particular year.

The olive oil can be bought from Saxenburg Tasting Room and
specialist retailers.
